Reaching out to our community!
At Sure Foundation Puna, we offer community outreach programs that promote spiritual growth.
We have a fitness center, Yeshua Boxing, Kempo Karate, Synergy Youth Outreach, Hula Halau, Tae kwon do, community classes and more! We also partner with Teen Challenge of the Hawaiian Islands. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Yeshua Boxing: Tuesday and Fridays from 4:30-6:00pm (schedule subject to change.) Cost is $20/month. Fitness equipment and gym usage is included in this fee. Yeshua also hosts U.S.A. Boxing Sanctioned Events.
Kempo Karate: This a seasonal class that is currently on break. Instructor is Professor Marie Stiles.
Whole Body Conditioning: This a seasonal class that is lead by Lori Yerxa. Call 808-966-6489 for more details.
Yeshua Fitness Gym: Designed for students 12 years old and up. We have free weights, dumbells, exercise machines and more. Membership is $20/month/person. Fitness gym is open Monday through Friday from 3-7pm.
Yeshua Tae Kwon Do: Every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00pm-7:00pm. For Ages 7 and up. Cost is $30/month, call instructor Steve Halama at 808-796-0905 for questions. You can train to earn a belt, to compete or for you own personal benefit!
Yeshua Hula Halau: Hula Halau Ua Piha me Ka 'Uhane Hemolele offers a variety of Classes for beginners and advanced. Call Kumu Sandy for questions at 808-966-6489.
Cost is $25/month/student.
Community Classes: We have classes to help you and the community! Some classes offered are Health & Nutrition, Divorce Care, Celebrate Recovery and more. Visit our Sure Foundation Puna church app and see the schedule of classes coming up or email for more information.
Synergy Youth Outreach: This is a free event open to all youth from 6-12 grades. Come on every Friday night from 6pm-8:45pm at our Sure Foundation Puna Youth Center. We feed everyone free dinner and also have a snack bar available. We do different activities such as:
- Video Games
- Basketball and other gym sports
- Free dinner
- A time conscious service which includes: games, worship, a relevant message and prayer.
- A safe place for youth to hang out.
- Monthly events that promote relationship, serving one another and family.
Also, on Friday nights a snack bar is available with reasonable costs and a free shuttle is also available to take youth home in between Shower Drive and Pahoa Town.
Teen Challenge has two centers, a men's and women's home. They use a biblical approach to deal with life controlling problems through a one-year residential program. The residential program is primarily for adults. We work with individuals and families who are dealing with drugs, alcohol, gambling, and codependent relationships.
